WorkMetro: Jobs ON DEMAND

Business Objective: Develop and launch an interactive On Demand employment channel to capitalize on the $22 billion classifieds industry and create an innovative recruitment tool.

Situation: WorkMetro, a network of local employment web sites, needed a partner to create and distribute their employment channel featuring interactive job postings and employment videos.  After establishing the Atlanta metro area as their first test market, WorkMetro teamed up with Comcast Cable to distribute Jobs ON DEMAND (JOD), a video employment channel on Atlanta Comcast On Demand.  However, a major missing piece of the project was who would create and manage content for the channel.

In order to attract a new audience and engage them to explore the employment channel, WorkMetro needed a multi-faceted production team to create unique messaging for each customer in an entertaining and eye-catching way, to manage a tight production schedule and to maintain the client’s vision for each job posting.  It was imperative for WorkMetro to secure a company that could produce video content while upholding WorkMetro’s overall vision of JOD.  To accomplish these objectives, WorkMetro chose Mercury Multimedia as their production partner.

The Mercury Solution: Mercury oversaw the creation and implementation of JOD from beginning to end.  Mercury established a brand identity and created unique messaging to introduce JOD to the Atlanta market. Mercury oversaw the production of all video content- creating video job postings, employer overviews and TV advertisements to generate multiple consumer visits to JOD.

Timeline: 3 months

Results: Mercury created video job postings for several of Atlanta’s top employers including Emory Healthcare, Emory University and HomeBanc. The videos garnered thousands of views in the first week of airing, and the JOD introduction was the most popular asset on Comcast’s Atlanta ON DEMAND channel.
